 Help for parents of tweens

Junior High can be a difficult age for both parents and kids.  Three of my kids have gone through junior high and my fourth is currently there.  All are still living :-)  This can also be a fun age as you and your children are able to share more in-depth conversations.  In my opinion, this is a super time for those of us into laughing--their sense of humor is developing!  And sometimes it's even WITH us and not AT us...

My experience as a parent is that it's helpful to have all of the following:  a sense of humor, a healthy prayer life, the ability to set boundaries and keep them, flexibility, a healthy prayer life (worth mentioning twice), friends who also have tweens and an activity that you do for yourself to recharge.

What are some good resources?

I have cruised a lot of review sites and find that this is one of the most even-handed.  It's from Focus on the Family and reviews music, movies, tv shows and games.  Your kids are going to see movies and listen to music that don't line up exactly with your values, but knowing what they've been exposed to will help you have meaningful conversations!
